Doug started teaching alpine skiing and inline skating while in high school and is now a fun, veteran instructor after teaching both for over 30 years. In the winter Doug teaching recreational skiers and trains the ski and ride school staff at Stowe, and travels the East training and certifying ski instructors from all over for PSIA-E as an Examiner and clinician. When the snow melts, Doug is on inline skates teaching people of all ages and skills both the basics of inline skating and more advanced techniques used for skate-to-ski, urban skating and skate parks. Doug offers both private lessons, and group skate clinics all spring, summer and fall.

This basic inline skate clinic will introduce participants to good balance on skates, proper striding techniques, proper turning, and how to stop. Protective gear and skates may be available based on sizing.

This skate to ski clinic assumes students have the basic skills to stride, turn, and stop on gentle hills. Building on these skills, students will learn the details of proper alpine turns with a slight downhill. The clinic will focus on the proper fundamentals for efficient and athletic alpine turns on skates. Inline skating is the best form of dry land alpine ski training, so get your next ski season off to a great start before the snow flies.
