Lake Iroquois Recreation District

The Lake Iroquois Recreation District beach area, along with its 150 acres of open land, continues to serve the district towns of Hinesburg, Richmond, St. George, and Williston, as well as all non-residents. The district lands provide access to swimming, picnicking, playground equipment, and walking trails.

The beach area is host to birthday parties, individual and group functions, and summertime fun. Costs for septic maintenance and summer staff represent the majority of annual expenses. Water quality sampling continues on a weekly basis.

The beach is area is open for the summer season from Memorial Day to Labor Day and continues to be a beautiful and affordable local recreation area. Annual beach passes are available for a fee at the Town Clerk's Office.

The municipalities of Hinesburg, Williston, St. George and Richmond border Lake Iroquois. It is these municipalities that make up the Lake Iroquois Recreation District. One resident from each member municipality make up the Board of Commissioners. The district exists for the purpose of owning, leasing, developing, maintaining, and managing its property located on Lake Iroquois and vicinity, for public park, conservation, and recreational purposes to serve its member communities. The District Commission normally meets the first Monday of each month at the Williston Town Office.

Admittance is NOT permitted without a permit per order of the Commissioners. SEASON PASS
Residents (Hinesburg, Williston, St. George, Richmond) $30.00 per vehicle $14.00 for 2nd family vehicle
Non-Residents $60.00 per vehicle $50 per vehicle
Senior Citizens (Residents Only) $15.00 (age 62+)  
Day Care Centers / Camps $70.00 for residents $90.00 non-residents
  • Season permits are available in the Town Clerks Offices in Hinesburg, Richmond, St. George, and Williston
  • Passes are also avaiable at the beach check-in station
  • Season permits must be affixed to the left front bumper of vehicle in order to be allowed admittance.

Non-Residents $8.00 / individual
Senior Citizens $4.00 / District Member
Children under 12 years old FREE (except for camp/day car groups)
HOURS
  • Memorial Day – Labor Day, 9 a.m. to dusk
  • Snack concession available June through August.
  • Beach closed Labor Day through Memorial Day.
RULES
  1. Swim at your own risk as there will not be a lifeguard on duty.
  2. All children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  3. No motor boat access allowed at the beach area.
  4. Launching/docking for any non-motorized vessels at marked locations (normal fees apply).
  5. Use of alcoholic beverages is NOT permitted.
  6. No smoking on the premises.
  7. Inflatable toys, swimming aids at your own risk.
  8. No open fires.
  9. No dogs allowed.
  10. No nudity regardless of age.
  11. Restrooms available.
  12. Carry out what you carry in.
